Gerard Conlan

llb (hons), PARTNER

Gerard graduated with honours in law from the University of Melbourne, and was admitted to practice 1971.

First employed for a brief period at a city law firm he was, unusually, granted the right to private practice within the firm which enabled him to build his own clientele in varied fields of law.

After forty years of practice, Gerard has developed a broad expertise in the law, with a special concern for its commercial applications. In 1990, Gerard was among the first accredited as a business law specialist by the Law Institute of Victoria.

Aside from the law, Gerard’s other great interest is sport, and cricket in particular. Over several decades he has built a vast library of books, ‘cigarette cards’, and other sporting memorabilia.

Elizabeth Cummings

BA LLB, PARTNER

Elizabeth completed an Arts degree at the University of Melbourne, majoring in history, before enrolling in Law. She graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Laws in 2004.

Elizabeth worked with the firm as a law clerk during her university days before commencing practice as a lawyer in 2005. During her first years of practice, Elizabeth enjoyed the breadth of experience offered by general commercial practice. Today, that commercial foundation assists Elizabeth in providing clients with insightful and strategic advice in family law, estate planning and estate administration.

Elizabeth became a partner of the firm, alongside her father and mentor, Gerard, in January 2016.

Outside of work, Elizabeth loves to amble around Melbourne, pursuing her passion for shopping and food.
